Decided to treat myself during Covid-19 lockdown. Worth it! Smooth, complex, not too sweet. Amazing sipping rum, with a single ice cube to slowly melt and reveal more flavours. I'm not sure my cabinet should ever be without it

$70 CAD Smells a bit fruity. A lot going on for flavours, definitely some coconut. Very little alcohol burn and a bit thinner than the my other rums. I was looking for something more complex than my El Dorado, Flor de Cana and Zacapa and this fits the bill. Definitely looking forward to drinking more of this!

Ce rhum traditionnel (créé pour célébrer les 20 ans de la maison) est le fruit de l’assemblage de rhums des réserves barbadiennes les plus âgées de la Maison Ferrand distillés en colonne double et Pot Still (Gregg’s Farm). Sélectionnés pour leur structure, leurs caractéristiques aromatiques et leur capacité à s’épanouir pendant de longues années sous bois, ces rhums ont bénéficié d’un vieillissement tropical de 8 à 15 ans.
Après des années passées sous les latitudes tropicales, ces rhums ont été emmenés au Château Bobonnet pour y être assemblés et bénéficié d’un nouveau vieillissement en fûts de cognac pour une période de 12 à 18 mois. Ce procédé offre ainsi au Plantation Rum XO 20th Anniversary la possibilité de développer toute la richesse de ses arômes.

Nez : c’est la noix de coco qui se fait remarquer. La vanille vient ensuite renforcer la promesse gourmande de ce rhum.

Bouche : Très gourmand et doux. C’est la vanille qui prédomine sur la coco. Quelques notes boisées (légères) et de caramel doux, renforce l’idée de confiserie.

Finale : onctueuse note de coco.

Bought my first bottle today. I have tried many different rums but I have to say this is the best sipping rum I have ever found. Smooth as the day is long. Not too sweet with hints of vanilla and caramel. Don’t wait like I did.

Wonderful neat while sitting next to the roaring fire.

For those who like to be spoiled, Plantation XO 20th Anniversary over ice cream banana foster as a very boozy dessert.

A little bit of an unusual way to use fine rum, so I recommend it.

This is a nice rum, with light taste in general (vanilla, coconut, that kind).
Soft and easygoing as you sip it.

Nice for sipping, nice bottle to pop on the table and share with friends.

I'm not giving big marks that easily so don't let my 7 discourage you - at a price tag of around 40 eur, this bottle deserves to be tried out, maybe even as permanent part of your rum cabinet if you're into lighter flavors.

Gourmand et épicé avec une vanille assez présente. L’ensemble fait preuve d’une belle rondeur avec une longue persistance.
