Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Only had a little taster, but would definitely recommend.
The plantation XO is an all-time favourite of mine, it has everything that a good rum needs. A bit spicy and fruity but also a bit smokey. It has hints of coconut and pineapple and has a really smooth and complex taste, so it's definitely a tasting rum. All plantations I have tried so far were excellent, but this version is probably the crown jewel of them all so far. Definitely recommended for the people who prefer quality rums with hints of fruit. I tasted this with some rum enthusiast friends and they all bought one for home, that probably tells it all. :)
Truly an excellent sipper. Would be an insult to mix this. . It's beauty is the simplicity of a bouquet of flavors with perfect execution. Hits all the highlights you can expect in a top shelf rum. Hints of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, allspice, light tobacco. All this can be enjoyed in an XO for a reasonable price.
Itβs warm, ginger and give the sensation of a mulled Christmas rum. All of this without being overpowering. My only fault it I wish the spiced elongated through to the aftertaste
A first sniff gives away some vanilla and cask aromas.
Very ballanced and pleasent nose.
Actually this is one of the least sweet in my cabinet, but it does have some sweetness.
The taste buds is meet with the initial sweetness followed with some vanilla and a bit of cask notes.
A very beautiful gold rum. I love this one. Price oke and taste super.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

So far, the Plantation CO (Barbados) is my favorite rum. Iβm relatively new to rum, but this one has renewed my quest to get into the rum scene. Neat, on the rocks, or mixed...it made no difference. This is the standard for me (so far), and is the priciest thus far too. Definitely recommend!
