Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Der Geruch entfaltet sich erst nach einiger Zeit, Vanille-Zucker Note mit ein wenig Alkohol.
Im Geschmack dominiert auch hier neben Alkohol die Süße (leider), es sind noch Karamell und am Anfang auch ein ganz wenig Orange wahrnehmbar.
Ein guter Rum, aber ebenfalls nichts was mich vom Hocker wirft, für
Liebhaber von Süßen Rum, als Dessert absolut o.k.

My favorite after tasting too many not so nice dark rums.
Al naso è molto complesso, con sentori di frutta esotica e canna da zucchero, arricchiti da piacevoli note derivate dal passaggio in botte quali vaniglia, cacao e pepe. Al palato risulta complesso e ben bilanciato, con note speziate, cremose e tostate ma non raggiunge la densità di gusto del Millonario XO.
I wanted to compare 2020 with older vintages. I don’t know how they do it but it is the same excelent rum I remember from my beginnings.
Nose- nothing special but taste - smooth with something in it which makes it very pleasant. Is nice to recall memories with rum which keeps the same high level of quality.
So far, the Plantation CO (Barbados) is my favorite rum. I’m relatively new to rum, but this one has renewed my quest to get into the rum scene. Neat, on the rocks, or mixed...it made no difference. This is the standard for me (so far), and is the priciest thus far too. Definitely recommend!
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
