Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Absolutely beautiful, rich rum with copious amounts of coconut flavour with hints of vanilla on the finish.
I liked it quite a bit, but I was not wowed by it. However, it is probably one of the best pound for pound rums I tried: amazing value at around £50.
Taste like there is a little added sweetness added but still a wonderful sipper. Taste like a celebration.
The XO had one of the longest and best aftertastes. Nevertheless there were two rums i was liking more. The Ron de Jeremy XO and the Diplomatico reserva exculsiva.
It's smooth on the tongue with the right amount of sweetness to it and finishes with slight afterburn. Plantation XO 20th Anniversary is a very well balanced rum and for the price it's an absolute delight. It's my favourite go-to rum. I'm giving 9 points because I'm still on the mission to find the perfect bottle.
Very well balanced but can be a little overly burning in the mouth. Nose is toasted coconut with marshmallow, initial flavor is a perfect natural sweetness marked by white chocolate and less obvious undertones of banana without resorting to vanilla, which is great. Excellent viscosity, maybe the best I’ve ever had. I’d had it up at a nine at first, but I won’t seek out another bottle just because of that burn, which became more unavoidable as I made my way through this one.
One of the best rum I have tasted, complex aroma including vanilla, dark amber color, I would not hesitate to buy another bottle when empty.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."
