Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Light copper-ochre colour.
Medium intense nose with aroma's of smoke, orange peel, caramel and a small hint of vanilla.
Smooth on the palate with powerful concentrated flavours.
Aroma's of caramel, sugar cane, orange peel and vanilla.
Very long finish and perfectly balanced. Flavours are in perfect harmony with each other
For me this is one of the best rums I have tasted so far
This Barbados beauty is delicious, and dangerously so. The rum is light and sweet, but not so much as to be cloying. The most dominant flavor on my palate while Iβm enjoying this is coconut. Throughout the drink and on through the mild but pleasantly warm finish, the presence of coconut makes itself known, but not in a overpowering or artificial way, as some lower quality runs are guilty of. That being said, your own personal opinion of coconut will go a long way to dictate your opinion of this rum. Personally Iβm a huge fan of this rum, and I buy a bottle of it whenever Iβm able to (I live in a smaller town and donβt go so far as to special order). My only complaint about the rum, and it is a minor one at that, is the fake (rubber?) stopper. The bottle itself is fantastically designed and should by all means have a traditional cork to complete the ensemble. The fake cork is the equivalent of hanging fuzzy dice under the rear view mirror of a Rolls Royce....sure you can do it, but both the car and bottle deserve better. Again....my only complaint in what is in my opinion a dangerously delicious sipping rum.
1 of the better rums very smooth
and very pleasant to drink
For me the best one I ever tried, but Iβm just begginerπ
What a nice sipping rum. There are better out there, BUT itβs Great for the Price :)
My first rum i ever tasted!
(so my rating is based on what i taste and i dont have any comparisons with other rums.)
In the past i tried a couple sips of whiskey at my dad's house but the taste of the alcohol is way to strong for me and i really dont like it, and i wanted to try something new because normali i drink beer, so i hope to find my love in the (sweet) rums!
So i looked on the internet and i found this rating site and soon after that i found this bottle of rum. i saw the ratings and it was excactly where i looking for. (taste and price)
And wow i love it, the taste is sweet/smooth, easy to sip, and a nice after burn, and reasonably priced, so a really good first try on the rums i think.
So if you also new and want to start with a random bottle? i really recommend this one!.
Sorry if my writing is not correct, English is not my native language!
I come from whisk(e)y, preferably scotch and Irish. That said spirits are not new to me, after doing extensive research I made this rum my first purchase. It was the smoothest spirit I've ever tried and on top of that very sweet but missed a lot of complexity and flavor, literally felt as if my tongue was left with a hole expecting something else. It's very good, very tasty, smooth, but it didn't wow me.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The full smoothe taste, the way it sticks to your glass, the way it looks and tastes is just beautiful. The price versus quality is top notch. The whole presentation is perfect. I recommend this rum to anyone.
