Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

So smooth. One of the best that I have had. Surprisingly rich for an amber rum.
Very smooth and packed with flavors. It is not as sweet as some may have said, but it does give off a sweeter after note. I am consider this a solid sipping dessert rum right after dinner.
one of my first tasting rums selected based on a review, i will. I will have to taste it once again.
Sets a high bar for other Rums
Perfect smooth finish for sipping .
I can't quite figure out the flavor notes but it's very good. It is incredibly smooth and no burn. The viscosity thickened the colder it got. This one is definitely worth a try.
Notes of woody cognac on the nose / coconut, banana, vanilla, oak, spiced chocolate with a strong lingering finish and only minimal burn.
This rum is a perfect entry level bottle for those interested in exploring XO and finely bottled rums.
This molasses made rum belongs to the sweet rums out there. For me it smells like ripe bananas and it'll give you a smooth drink. I love it!
This rum is a delicate balance that leads to a wonderful sipping experience. I hope everyone has a chance to try it.
Found this to be a very nice sipping rum, especially for the price. Very smooth with no harsh notes or burn. I found it to have a nicely sweet character but not as sweet as say Diplomatico Reserve. Overall, a great rum.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Obviously lots of added sugar but still a nice palette of fruity tastes with vanilla and coconut at the front.
