Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Not too sweet, not too dry. Very nice balanced flavor and very smooth. This will be a regular for my rum cabinet. It is light on the palate - very refreshing.
For me it's too light in taste, but nice. Here in "RumRatinhs" Zacapa 23 has lower rating than this rum, I defenitly prefer Zacapa 23 than Plantation XO 20th Anniversary.
Plantation hit the mark with this offering. The taste is complex without a very sweet taste.
Beautiful color, nice bottle,, good flavor, has a bit of almost spice. Maybe cinnamon, not quite as smooth as a zapata XO or Appleton 21. The best rum for the price hands down!
Nice sweet and easy going. Brown sugar caramel and raisin.
One of the most consummed rums in Austria and we are known to make good decisions. Good enough to be drunken everyday till the end of times.
Fine touche de sucre et se termine très bien en bouche
Lui et le barcelo impérial se boivent très bien en bonne compagnie
The bottle tries to be fancy and representative but looking at it you know it's only pretending. Golden brown color with moderate thickness, basic rum in the glass.
Fruity sweet aroma with banana and apricot, floral notes and vanilla.
Very sweet and thick in the mouth with little alcohol bite at the beginning, caramel and molasses. It is then followed by some barrel and leather notes, lingering on in the woody and dry finish. Modest aftertaste with wood, rust and metal.
This rum is not bad but lacks complexity.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I don’t love the funk of most Plantation rums, but this one is a really good sipper.
