El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Vanilla and cinnamon notes, bit of caramel. Flavor is great, but super sharp at first. Smooths out as the drink goes on.
great sipping rum warm or cold.with the price it deseves a 8 from me.
Visited ABC today to purchase a different rum - they were offering tasters for this El Dorado 12yo. So good I bought a bottle.
Decadent spicy sweet spice explosion. Deep dark brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and hints of orange peel and citrus fruit lay upon a foundation of oak and wood spices. Rich tobacco accents the flavor and some luscious dark fruit (dates and raisins) finds its way into the flavor profile. The overall flavor is sweet but not overwhelmingly so, and a soft nuttiness lies under the other flavors giving the rum just a hint of bitterness which offsets that sweetness nicely.
Highly recommend - an excellent rum at any price but especially good value for the price .
Le 7 est clairement un peu dur mais il a eu du mal à me convaincre pour le 8. Il montre les muscles, fait le fort mais s'arrête assez vite. Un nez que sentiront même ceux qui n'ont pas d'odorat, ça sent le bois d'Amazonie brulée par des braconniers. Un peu d'aération plus tard on goute les châtaignes grillées et l'orpaillage. Une belle un peu rouillée qui en a quand même sous la pédale : une Peugeot 205 GTI oubliée dans un garage.
Rum El Dorado 12 můžu označit za nejlepší volbu. V poměru cena-kvalita by mel dostat 10z10. Těžko najít rum, který je stále rumem a přitom také nasládlý. Před pitím doporučuji nechat 10 min odstát, aby unikla přehnané první aroma, které by mohlo nazasvécené z prvu odradit. Věřím že po postupném dopití celé lahve jej budete chtít koupit znova jako já.
Great rum at about £35 - often less. It's not particularly smooth compared to some other quality rums - in fact it has a bit of a kick at the end of it, to give it a balance which I like - it's far from rough and has a great deal of sophistication to go with its bite. Quite a flavour of dried fruit and caramel and oaky-rumness comes through on both the nose and mouth. It has a huge amount of depth. You can taste a lot from it long after you've finished your glass. I raised this from an 8 to a 9 as the more I drink it, the more I like it...mmm...must drink more and it may get to a 10?

I really like this rum. It is so smooth and even when mixed you still have a great flavour.
