El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Not my favourite but good with ice or a mixer. Not as sweet as the diplomatico line.
This is the most sophisticated cousin to the 8 year; but not my favorite.

El Dorado 12 is an amazing starter. Sweet, with vanilla and caramel after taste, you can use it for sipping or for making cocktails. Either way, you can't go wrong with this rhum. A must at the price range 30-40CAD.
Had this one at my brothers, i liked the smooth taste though a bit sweet! Nice taste but would not get one for myself.
This is an absolutely wonderful, perfectlt aged with frull-bodied rum with rich flavors of honey, fruit, spices
and dark sugar. Absolutely amazing and nicely priced,
The 12 year is a sweet intro to sipping rum. It’s sweet.
Good rum and i like the bottle a lot! I also had a taste of the 15 and 21 year old but this one was the nicest to my taste.
this is a bottle I will be trying again as it seems it deserves another try, it's got the potential to be an 8 for me, just haven't tried it in a long time

I've tasted the 12 and 15 back to back. This one is close to the 15 year version, I'm undecided which one I like best. So if the price is better, might as well buy this one.
