Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

From the bottle to the taste, this rum is fantastic. Really well rounded flavor with only a small hint of sweetness. It's not to expensive either so great value for money. This is one of my favorite in my collection.
Nice sweet caramel scent, pretty sweet fruity taste. great starter rum for people wanting to get into sipping rum.
Sweet and smooth, a good entry level to understand superior rums. Negative note is the enormous amount of sugar added, very annoying, leaving a residue also at the bottom of each bottle. Is not a secret that oak barrels are covered in molasses and ~35/45 g/l sugar is added to this release, making this drink for the most purists more a rum-based spirit than a real rum. Apart from that, it’s sweet, smooth and well rounded, with hints of vanilla, banana, tropical flowers to the nose. Afterburn is pleasant and overall a favourable sipping rum!
I bought this spontaneous and it was good but that’s it. Maybe I wasn’t ready yet. Bottle and packing is well looking. I’m glad I bought it but next time I’ll rather invest to El Dorado 15
Dvaníctileté El Dorado, chvíli trvalo, než sem si k němu našl cestu. Kořenitý, nasládlý
Excellent product for the price.
Great value. A must for your liquor cabinet
When the bottle was first opened it was the caramel like smell I noticed, some bottles of rum the alcohol smell is more intense, this one medium with a little bite to the nose. On the rock after it chilled the rum was smooth and had a nice taste. I would like likely buy again.
I like the smooth and rich taste of the
‘El Dorado 12 Year Old Rum’ ... Great taste!
Unclear why a lot of people rate this a 7. There is a distinct oak in this bottle that should be enough to push it up to at least an 8. It is so interesting. It has a lovely roundness and thick caramel cream experience followed by an almost whiskey oak finish. Definitely an 8 because it is hard to find that lovely oak at this prince point and this availability.
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar...

It’s sweeter with more delicate fruit flavours coming to the fore.
"It’s very sweet and quite light. It’s very easy drinking. As a sipping rum it as easy to drink."

Smooth and delicious aged rum. You can easily sip this neat. Love using this in a daiquiri for a more full bodied drink.
