El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

This bottle was my introduction to aged rums. I’m very much a beginner to rum, but I like to explore new bottles when I can. Definitely sweeter than most, but sometimes I don’t mind the sweetness.
Drinks smoothly with or without ice. One of the best ones out there.
Why do I say that? Because this rum is tasty, delicate, smooth and a fabulous value! Sweet but not sugary. Caramel and dried fruit notes. Absolutely makes a great gift to Connoisseurs or novices alike.
I really thought I'd like this. It smelt of toffee and wasn't too sweet to taste but I got a coffee after taste that just isn't for me.
The first premium rum I was ever introduced to. While it's not my favourite, it's a strong number 2.
A very good rum. I enjoy it as a sipper but may try it as a blender later. A bit stronger but it is my 5th rum bottle ever so I am only at the beginning of my rum journey. Sweeter taster and well balanced smoke flavor.
One of my first good rums, then not overcomed by many after (in its prize category)

Great option to dink as is. Not to sweet, just right. A bit more rough then the Diplomatico but a excelent one for sure
