United States | Light | 40% ABV

Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

Dont do this to yourself and buy better one. Not good even for drinks.

This is at best a last resort rum and coke or a rum punch mix.

Great in a cocktail, ok in a daiquiri. That's it though. Harsh flavourless not even good with coke.

This is not very good. Cut it with coke it was passible but still very strong taste of ethanol. I’d pass on this one and go out of my way to find another white rum if possible.

Not a lot of body in this rum but can make a great rum whenever mixing a batch of frozen drinks. Mix in another darker or spice rum for an extra punch...

Average rum which mixes well in a cocktail. The rum itself lacks flavour, but it's suitable to drink

Such a shame that most bars (at least where I live) seem to consider Bacardi Superior to be the gold-standard of white rums, so offer only this or a nasty house option.
It's not the worst spirit you'll ever encounter, but it definitely belongs masked in a sweet cocktail and nowhere else.

Great for making mixed drinks. Nothing bad about it.

Persoonlijk vindt ik deze rum geen smaak hebben, je kan net zo goed pure alcohol in je cocktail gooien

After all these years, having tasted complex and masterful cane sugar spirits, I should detest Bacardi Superior. The OG rum to postwar Americans, whatever, it's everywhere and (almost) in everything. Old reliable even stages coups at drinking establishments, forcing them to list only Bacardi on their menus. Can't say I've knowingly had it in decades, but it was in the first Cuba libres I drank, and my cousins had it on hand at the vacation house. "It'll make you go blind," I was told. I think they meant the 151, but the hangover was blinding. Nuff nostalg.

Avoid the stuff if you have a selection to choose from, but this - and in all its other artificial flavors - is the pop star of North American rum.

Pop stars do annoy me, however...
