Bacardi 8 rum

Bacardi 8

United States | Aged | 40% ABV

Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.

This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

Makkelijk te drinken rum. Zachte smaak.

Sampled Bacardi 8 yr Rum and found it to be OK, probably good for mixing but just OK to sip.

I tend to refrain from buying rums or beer for that matter by companies that hold a monopoly on the industry. I find that these companies focus more on quantity than quality. However, I decided to try Bacardi's 8 year old product in hopes that it would not disappoint. It is actually a nice example of what Bacardi can do IF they spend a little more time and effort creating a suitable product that doesn't have to be added to sugary concoctions to make it taste good. Together with their Solera 1873 offering, you can find hope in a Bacardi rum that tastes good without the high price you would have to pay for their Reserva Limitada.

Good enough rum, though to be honest it's not really worth the price. Far better rums can be found for half the price of this.

This is a good rum at a great price. Not great as a sipper ,but makes a wonderful rum and coke. This will always have a place in my cabinet.
