Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

One of my very first rum purchases, as broadly known. Opened after 1.5 years.
Generally fits the picture Plantation brand being decent value for money paid. I did not have a bad rum from them yet.
The body feels like vanilla, coconut with hints of bourbon, generally quite good, smooth.
Smells good but still quite "ethanolish" as I commonly witness in case of cheap-tier rums. There is nothing really specific and I'd probably easily mistake it for another rum on blind-testing. But it tastes ok.
Good rum for everyone, I guess. Bad choice if you want something unique and/or truly kickass.
Little too sweet and "cheap feeling". But there are various way more expensive rums of very similar quality and taste.
After Zacapa is Plantation one of my top choices.
With a cigarr you can sit and enjoy for a long time, glass after glass
The decanter style bottle and the colour of the rum are just two of the points that attract people to buy before they taste this it. Then they certainly will not be disappointed. Pour into a glass there is a gentle aroma of pineapple and citrus. Take a sip and there is a soft burn of flavour in the mouth. It slides down giving a warm feeling. This rum is for any rum drinker to enjoy.
Smooth, sweet so so - not too much, not too little. Strong vanilla aroma and even the coconut tones. Really a pleasure to sip.
The smell is very woody and fruity. The first sip was a little bit burning in my esophagus but one sip later it was fine. The taste is very nice but not so good as the grand anejo but still delicious. And in the cola I like Him the most. I give it an 8!!
It's been a while since I tasted such a great, smooth rum!
smooth and tasty. Compare to reserva 5y very similar just better in every way.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
