Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary

Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.

The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

This is one of my all Time favorite rhum. It is very well balanced. The packaging is majestic ! Hands down to the maison Ferand for this unique master pièce in my cabinet.

Been in love with the rum for some time, but recently started my own collection (old picture). This is a gentle and quite intriguing rum to my taste. Got its sweetness just at the border of my limited. Nor to sweet nor to bitter annd strong. Got it in a pack with two tulip glasses and rhey indeed elevate the taste. Drink it plain with nothing but a woman by yourside... Giving it 8/10, because I did not like it as much the second time I had it, compared to the first.

This is a good one!
And not too pricy. Beautiful bottle and packaging.

If there is one thing I have learned it is that generally you get what you pay for. Of course there are exceptions particularly with alcohol but this is not one of those exceptions. Plantation XO is really smooth. It is not cheap but I have had other similarly priced rums on occasion and there is no doubt if I am going to spend the money I will go for this every time. There are a couple rums I would love to try but spending another $40+ for the next level is just hard to do as I find it hard to believe it would justify the price. This is absolutely a top shelf rum. I have had the premium selections from Appleton and Mount Gay and Plantation XO was just better for me.

Amber colour with heavy vanilla, cask and caramel flavors. Tastes like its got quite a bit of additives but that's not necessarily bad.

This is the best rom from Plantagen. Great and long full taste.

This is a really good rum. Very tasty with multiple tones of different flavors. Quality/price wise this is one of the better bottles that you can get.

Sweet and nutty on the nose. Maybe marzipan. Just a tad too sweet imo but undeniably tasty. Creamy coconut taste with a pleasant burn that sticks with you.

This is a very nice brown rum, everytime I take a sip I get goosebumps. It just melts away on your tongue. A long aftertaste of vanilla and caramel.
