Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Great aroma and a very smooth quality rum I'll definitely be buying again
It is a good rum, but I expected more of a rum with such price tag. Glad I got a free 1dcl sample with my eshop order. I tasted it with my girlfriend. Floral on the nose, light taste, more on the sweeter side. Typical plantation, kind of smooth but still a little bit of the raw alcohol. Not very complex, one dimensional rum with sugary sweet finish. My gf liked it, I prefer my rum not sweetened. Very similar flavor profile to Abuelo 7, which is a little bit better and comparing the price with Abuelo being half the price of Plantation XO there's no point of buying a bottle of this rum. Not much new flavors to discover if you had Plantation grande reserve before, not worth the hype and a bit overrated. Not a bad rum, just not worth the money. Around 30€ would be fair price. Had more interesting rums for a better price.
At the time of this writing, this rum is hyped around the net. Yes, it is good and worth finding, however, it is commanding a higher tier price point. I do enjoy the taste and balance. I do enjoy sweet rums, and do not find this as sweet as was led to believe. It is still Barbados, and still brings that old familiar rum heat in the throat. Plantation is setting itself above other brands with this offering.
The bottle is top shelf.
Love it, only slite chilling and it is smooth and giving all the colors when it warms you up. love the coco smell.
Just a very good rum. Really smooth to sip. In my top 3.
As title says, something is off about this rum, at least for me.
Raisins, probably toffee and hints of vanilla on the nose. Very smooth drinking experience overall with gentle kick at the end but… I can’t make the palette because it’s overly sweet. I suspect some additional sugar is added.
Over all I don’t understand why is it rated so high here, for me it’s on par with Pampero Aniversario so somewhere around 6.5
Great rum, shared a bottle with a friend and we both liked it very much.
I bought this through Amazon as it gets a good rating on here and the price wasn’t too extreme. I wanted to spend a bit more and get something special. However I must admit I was disappointed; there seems to be a lot of sweet vanilla and caramel flavours, but for me it lacks the punch of some stronger rums, for sipping. I’m a fan of Islay malt whiskies, and this just didn’t impress. It’s a very nice bottle, but the important thing is taste. I wouldn’t buy again.
Great sipping rum. Smooth, complex, hints of sweet caramel. This, alongside El Dorado 15 are currently my go-to sippers.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

I picked up a bottle of this recently due to all the good reviews I read on here. It was pretty solid, my dad and I did enjoy drinking it, but it was completely overshadowed by the El Dorado 15 I also picked up for right around the same price. I feel like the El Dorado was so much smoother and had more flavor, but I'm also still new to sipping rums so I may have missed something. Not my absolute favorite but still a good rum, 7.5/10.
