Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

I would give this 8.5, it's a great value for money if you can find the cheapest prices for it in your area. And if you have guests, almost everybody likes the taste.
It is probably the best rum in the price category under €50.

This is so damn smooth. I thought it would be darker, but it’s just so well balanced. The oak, vanilla, cane sugar, is just almost perfectly balanced,

Very smooth and well balanced. A little vanilla, caramel and cocoa.
Rum has been a favorite liquor for about 35 years, but only in the past year did I discover how excellent aged Rums can be as a sipper of used to make an Old Fashioned. This one of my favorite so far!
This rum is just so smooth, through and through. Beautiful and unique bottle design that just ties this rum together. It’s great!
