Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

I was surprised by the rum , almost no burn , nice aroma and pretty cheap. You probably won't find any better for the price.
One can find better mixers, one can find better quality, but this is as fine-a-rum one could have 100 years ago, and the real benchmark from which one looks for better, although it's hard to match it value wise.
This is my first Havana Club rum. I was expecting more from the brand. I’d hoped for something on my list to check off, but this was all they had at the bar.
I asked for it neat and it came with a slice of lemon in it. It tasted like gin to me, and while it would probably work in a cocktail, it’s not a sipping rum at all.
I shall never buy a bottle.
Many of the reviewers recommend this with a cigar due to the tobacco notes present. While I can’t say it’s a bad drop, and it certainly is far far superior to the 3 year, HC7 is “okay” but nothing special. If someone bought this as a present for me knowing I like rum, but not knowing anything about rum, I’d be happy. I wouldn’t buy it for myself again though.
The go to rum for high quality mixed drinks but also decent for sipping
I'm a rookie in the rum universe and I started with this one (recommended by a friend).
I think it is not a bad one to start, even though I don't find it very tasty
Havana Club 7 years
This was my first 'sipping' rum i ever bought and it was not bad at all.
At first you smell at bit of leather/tabacco, after letting it sit in the glass for a few minutes the flavor changes and more sweeter notes are introduced. This makes for a smooth rum
This is definitely one of my favorites when I can get it. Hopefully one day it will actually be sold in the US. I'm not a huge fan of sipping this straight but mixed with a little coke is where its at.
Nice rum,
Basic yes
Drinking neat good
With ice too
Good for cocktails

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

40%abv 100% column still from my knowledge
Nose: Bit campfirey, bit tobacco like, caramel and oak, bit alcoholic, cinnamon vanillin, black pepper
Taste: First strong mouthfull of oak and char, hot and spicy, lots of tongue numbing black pepper, then some vanillin and light caramel, also this rum is very dry, probably unsugared and i appreciate that.
Finish: lots of hot char oak and black pepper, has an alcoholic kick but luckily its complimented with abovementioned flavours so its mostly just hot.
I dont personally like column spanish style rums but this one is well made, its hot spicy and quite flavourful for column still rum and from my knowledge, quite pure.
