Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Widely available. Not a bad choice, if nothing better is around. Still... Rather choose a pub, where Mount Gay XO and such are on the menu
Got a bottle as a gift. Was a nice surprise when i tasted it. Not overly sweet but a distinct nice flavour to it. Good for sipping.
Not the same as U.S. produced Havana Club. If you don't know the story, look it up! A somewhat rough low end rum.
This is simply a classic, very smooth rum. There are no complex over bearing flavors or notes. A simple oaky, smooth, rum flavor follows through and lasts until the next sip. The attraction to this rum? The smooth, burnless finish and classic unaltered rum taste.
If you are a rum drinker, you must have had the Havana Club 7. As someone said in another review, it is a flagship among rums. And it should be considered so, as it has been around for tens of years. But not without reason. The distinctive Havana Club flavor, the smokey aroma, make it a mature rum, which you can enjoy with an ice cube a a slice of orange, while smoking a cigar.
In my it holds a high position in the mid-range rum class, and it definitely didn't get there by mistake. I would buy this again and again, without regret.
Just try it, there's no losing with it for how much it costs.
Tabaco flavour. Not very sweet. Small finish. Prety descent.
My taste buds are becoming more accustomed to the 7 year
this is classic cuban rum, is ok for many situations.
But if you are looking for something special, this rum will disappoint you...
This rum is a great choice when you need to balance price and quality. Good enough to stand on it's own and fantastic in cocktails. One of my favorites to keep on hand.
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Solider Rum ohne geschmackliche Extravaganten. Typisch Cuba
