Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Great rum to start your advantage in to the rum world....rich and sweet... goes well with cigar.
This is the one I drink when I have exhausted my other bottles.
It's perfectly acceptable, though I find it can be a little too treacle and bourbon.
Still, it's cheap and you can get it in just about any supermarket, so...
I have gone back and forth on buying this. It's a bit pricey for a mixer, but it's better than the Flor de Cana 5 year, for example, which is crap by itself, but fine in stuff. Light body, pretty dry (most of the Havana Club stuff is not that sweet), a bitter on the after taste. Profile is mostly tobacco and cinnamon.
Comparing other Cuban rums, I see HC7 as a leader.
Continiuous aging helps to develop nice flavours as tobaco, heavily roasted coffee and bitter - sweet molasses.
I like to drink it neat or make a old fashioned when at a party.
Tastes good and not too hard to understand.
The best value rum you can drink straight up.
Moderatery rich taste and smokey flavor, well sweet.
Certainly not the best rum in the world, but will be suitable for not only rum biginners but all traditional rum drinker, I think.
Dobry do picia na lodzie, z colą, ostatecznie nawet sam. Cena w Polsce około 90 PLN za butelkę 0,7. Uważam że warto
This rum has very hard position in Havana family - It is in the middle between brilliant Selection de Maestros on one side and cheap but tasty Anejo Especial on the other one. So if you buy 7yo, you pay 50% more than for Anejo Especial, but you dont get 50% quality increase. Or, you pay 75% of Selection de Maestros price, but again, you dont get 75% of its quality. And this is the biggest problem of Havana 7yo. If you want quality, you go for Maestros. If you want cheap and tasty, you go for Anejo Especial. But its at least worth trying.
Bottle: I like this black design they made for 7yo. Its prettier than Anejo Especial even though its smaller.
Color: You might think that it will be dark rum, but thats wrong. The color is simillar to Anejo Especial.
Smell: It smells like leather and tobacco. Also some alcoholic smell. And maybe a bit of peat or turf.
Taste: Tasted on room temperature. In first try a lot of alcoholic taste, but after leaving my glass breathing for a minute, it became much better. Some tobacco taste, a lot of wood, some leather. I will give it a try on rocks.
Well, this rum is not bad, it is just the unwanted middle brother. for there are much better rums in its price category and both his closest siblings offers something more.
Underated. Buy this one if you have the opportunity, you won't be disappointed
Un pic mai bun ca cel de 6 ani, ies niște prăjituri excelente! :))))

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
