El Dorado 5-Year

Certainly taste the chocolate and banana coming through. Very smooth for a £21 bottle.

Tastes like ice cream. Smokey Demerara taste like you’d expect. Kind of dries the inside of your mouth, probably cos it’s not as full of sugar as the older ones. No better or worse than the eight, probably the best value El Dorado, but overall just ok.

It is good neat, not sophisticated , but worth the money
Aged for at least 5 years in bourbon barrels, with notes of dried tropical fruits, caramel, and towards the end we discover aromas of dry coconut and vanilla
Excellent for cocktails

I try it for mixing and sipping and they are both bad! I am not buying this again

I like him neat, although he is a bit lite for a sipper.
As a mixer he is amazing, his buttery profile is shining in cocktails.

Oproti starším El Dorado rumům je o něco víc ostřejší a sušší. Nicméně po pár doušcích mi zachutnal. Aroma vanilky a dubového sudu je velmi příjemné a nevtíravé. Dobře se pije jak samotný tak i s colou.

I thought I'd like this a lot more since I like the other El Dorado offerings. It's got a nice nose but I found the taste to be just okay.
Color: Golden
Nose: I get tropical fruit and molasses
Taste: Caramel and fruit

Defiantly a good mixing rum not for enjoying on the rocks !

Nothing special, but quite drinkable for 5-year version. Would rather pay little more for 12-Years one.

After greatly enjoying the 15yr and 12yr I decided to rate this 5yr and boy am I glad I did! This bottle now has a place on my shelf for mixing as I really like the smooth buttery, toffee, caramel flavors which are NOT subtle!
