Appleton Estate 12-Year Rum is a blend of several rums aged between 12 and 18 years in American oak barrels after being distilled using small-batch copper pot stills.
The rum is produced on the Appleton Estate, which sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica. The estate’s origins date back as far as 1655 when the English overthrew the Spanish to rule the island and Frances Dickinson, grandfather of the distillery’s founders, received the land as a reward for his role in the overthrow.

What a mellow fantastic rum to sit down by the fire too.
For those who are not fans of sweet rums, this is the one to go for. Full of color and tastes, sharp at first but smooth in thr afterburn. Perfect Jamaican rum.
Being one who favors the sweeter rums, this one is not really one of my favorites. A very good rum indeed, but too typically a rum from the British colonies. Complicated, but sharp, smoky and with somewhere a hint of bitterness. I will keep tasing it from time to time, but only to follow it up with a Zacapa 23 or a Diplomático single vintage, for the contrast.

I find this to be a premium mixer but decent straight. The longer it sits in the glass the more aromas come out. Too bad the taste doesn't match the aromas.
Very nice sweet rum, not too complicated but likeable ! Ok for mixing i guess. Not a big fan. There are a lot cheaper products that taste better when sipping.
Zadne prekvapeni. Citrusova vune, celkem drsny a ne moc prijemny zezacatku, po chvilce ve sklence se trochu zlepsi.

One rum everyone should try, not bad. However the 21 year old is really a great deal better
