El Dorado 21-Year rum

El Dorado 21-Year

Guyana | Aged

El Dorado 21 is produced near the equator in Guyana by Demerara distillery. The final product is a blend of rums, aged between 21 and 25 years and crafted using 100% locally sourced Demerara sugar. Very nice. Definitely can taste the oak. Not as sweet as others I keep in stock. It's a keeper.

Nose: oak, spices (vanilla) and honts of chocolate
Taste: full and round with a little bit, some nuts and raisins
Aftertaste: caramel, vanilla and caramelised apricot

Pretty much the standard I judge rums by, strangely enough introduced to it by an Irishman in a Belfast bar, fantastic

A richly flavored sipping rum with a bit of sweetness to round out the flavor. Not spicy, reminds me of Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva but with less sweetness.

This is a nice smooth sipping rum but like flor De cana 25 and my 1981 English harbour they all just lack that wow factor. That extra flavour and richness. Not my favourite but a nice enough rum nonetheless.
A solid 7.

It taste different then the 15 and 12... All have the same after taste, it's what's in the mouth and nose that's different.. for the cost I say stick to the 15. I wasn't fond of the 12's nose it reminded me of nail polish and honey... I like the 21 taste in the mouth it's not full body, it has a long after taste of something sweet I can't put my finger on it. I'll keep my 15 and be happy.

Excellent sipping rum with complex flavours including leather, oak and spicy vanilla...longish finish. However, the 15 is likely just as good, at significantly less cost

This Rum is amazing!! Has a slight funk smell similar to Jamaica Rums, but far exceeds all other rums. Starts with your typical vanilla hints, then transitions to a tobacco/raisin, and finishes with chocolate notes. Absolutely amazing!! Must try.
