Bumbu Original

This is a drink created especially for ladies I assume, as alcohol content is less, even though there is still a lil alcohol burn at the start, just to show some “character”. One that can be mixed (price is on the lower end of quality drinks) or sipped. This drink is very sweet, sugar (caramel) taste predominates and there is a veeeery little hint of oak and plum.
I got a headache quickly after, hopefully not because of some artificial alcohol in this :(

The nose on this rum took me by surprise - notes of banana and almond, along with very subtle scents of vanilla and nutmeg, were surprising. I enjoyed the taste as a sipping rum for a unique flavor, and think for tropical cocktails it is well suited.

So if you like rum with a burn and nothing but rum… if you don’t like a sweet, flavored beverage and prefer your liquor “neat” Bumbu is NOT for you.

Bumbu is a spiced rum and it is indeed flavored and sweet. It’s also smooth with very little burn when sipping it straight.

I prefer spiced rum. That’s my taste. My flavor. I’d compare Bumbu to Captain Morgan spiced rum, but a little sweeter and quite a bit smoother.

Your taste may vary. Try it. If you don’t like it, I’ll be happy to have it. lol

I found this stuff at local store thinking it was cheaper and good for Rum and Cokes. However I was surprised when I sipped a taste it was very smooth and lots of taste. I noticed an almost cinnamon after taste, not hard and burning just the slightest one. I almost want to say a honey taste to it as well, almost like honey roasted peanuts. Definitely would recommend as a midrange price wise rum. Might become my go to for everyday.

A buddy recently got me onto better rum, started with this. Quite nice.

Hints of vanilla. Nice sweet rum. Would buy again. Easy drink.

One of the first rums I ever drank. Was fine at first, until I came back to it and it felt way too sweet compared to others.

At a friend's 70th birthday. This is definitely a different rum. You remember those butter rum candies, well this is where they come from.

Its a sweet rum, not what i expected but was still a nice overall taste
