Starts off super bold and high octane, but mellows out quickly to a smooth finish

Great addition to the list, one more down 49 to go.

I had this on a Disney cruise and enjoyed it but when I bought a bottle back in the states i was surprise that it didn't taste as good. To be honest I may have had the Reserve Blend on the cruise. I will try it next to be sure. Either way this rum is good for rum and coke but I still prefer Sailor Jerry for my rum and coke.

Has a lack of smoothness I didn't really care for but the flavor was definitely a classic full rum flavor. Had it with a couple ice cubes to catch a chill. It's definitely a nice step above the captain but that's not really saying much for me. I'd just as soon spend the same amount on the sailor as I would this one for the fact that it just didn't have that special I don't know what, same that the sailor does have the hint of.

The taste of this rum is like drinking bad vinegar. It has almost an apple cider vinegar and metallic taste. For a cool rum, it burns. You might get by giving this to a drunk wedding party, but not to a good friend to enjoy sipping with. I have had $10 rums that were better. I cannot recommend this rum

My first ever bottie of Jamaican juice as I was in the mood for a touch of their pot still "hogo" mixed in with my usual Demerara & Barbados with a splash of Black Strap house blend. Beyond the occasional taste I'm not a fan of Jamaican style so I'm not in a position to claim authority. Plus, there is a cork dork at every cocktail bar that loves the stuff nowadays.

Standard rum. Tastes a little harsh, a bunch of barrel flavor, no sweetness. A burn on the end of it. Mixing rum, not sipping rum, but not horrible to sip

Aroma is nice though as a sipper not a lot of body and has a tough edge to it. Okay as a mixer with a nice but narrow taste. Not a keeper for me.

I'm not entirely sure when the quality of this rum began to deteriorate because, for awhile, I wanted to believe the dropping of the age statement on my go-to rum was meaningless. But, alas, no. It's still a decent mixing rum, but has lost some flavor and is a bit astringent. Campari's takeover of Appleton Estate likely plays a role here, and I've noticed the label is silent on where the bottling (as opposed to blending) takes place. The Reserve (one step up) is better bang for the buck if you can find it.
