If you enjoy the Jamacain style of rum you could probably drink this straight. For me this rum is a pass.
Very very and once again very bad rum. Strong alcohol taste ... nothing for me.
Received again as a gift :) Maybe good for mixed drinks or with Coke, of course on the rocks!
After my disappointment with Appleton's 12 year old rum I have stayed away from this brand. However others have liked it so I bought a bottle on the way home from BVI. I am no connoisseur, but I do enjoy this rum. Taste is good but not as smooth as some. However in this price range it's a good pick.
A harsh rum with the smoothness of 120 grit sandpaper. Somewhat pleasant aroma but less flavor and more of a whiskey taste.
Great mixer, if you don't feel like thinking about what to buy, buy this.
Very good for AE’s basic rum! Smooth, great in a rum cocktail, & even works on the rocks in a pinch. Upgrade to the Reserve Blend when you can, but you’ll enjoy this “one size fits all” rum! 🏴☠️
This is fantastic stuff. Mixes really well and can be a supper too. Smooth but with character. Not very flammable. Not too sweet. Not too funky. Not too heavy. Great flavor. The average rating here is low in my opinion.
Bought this on a whim after spotting it in a super market.
It’s many years since I last tried it, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a while before I buy again.
Good with coke, but far too harsh , for me, to drink neat, as I prefer to take my rums.
Appleton’s, like I imagine for a lot of people, is where my rum journey started many years ago.
Use as a mixer by all means
Graham.
Well balanced and it is a quite subtle (by Jamaican standards) rum.
"The initial sip is quite smooth but the palate soon heats up and feels the black pepper again, this time with some chilli and ginger spice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This tastes fine when used as a mixer, not really one for sipping though.
