Brugal Añejo rum

Brugal Añejo

Dominican Republic | Gold | 40% ABV

Brugal Anejo rum is a blend of rums aged 3 to 5 years in used American white Oak barrels that previously held whiskey and bourbon.

The rum is produced in the Dominican Republic by Brugal & Co., a company that was founded in the late 1800s by the Spaniard Andrés Brugal Montaner. Today, the Brugal rum company remains largely in the control of Montaner's direct descendants.

One of the first none-bacardi rums that I’ve tasted while starting my adventure with rums. This one was one of the biggest disappointments. Truly flat in smell and taste at least for me. Nothing special, however my wife loves it ;).

Erg lekkere en lichte rum. Drinkt makkelijk weg met een heerlijk aroma.

I think it is a great mixer, but that is pretty much it. If you like cocktails here is your ingredient

Certainly carries that 'alchol' taste that pushes out any other taste qualities it may have.

Dominikánský rum, který je na můj vkus dost drsný s neobvyklou "dřevitou" chutí.

I like this equally as the £20 more expensive Gran Reserva, it is maybe not as complex as the Gran Reserva, but for the price this a real quality honest Rum. Not overly sweet and enough flavours to make it more than just a "mixer".

The predominant note was of sawdust. This is simply not a good rum.

I’m ok with this rum anyway but it is by far best as a mixer. Nothing terrible other than alcohol nose nothing special. If you have better options take them.

Pas un rhum de dégustation, vous devez le prendre avec quelque chose d'autre.

I would say this is a typical Dominican, but there is an unpleasant dissonant tone at the end of the taste profile, something like moldy wet old rug, which totally destroys this rum. Surprisingly, the moldy wet old rug smell an taste even gets through coke, which is truly remarkable.
