While I recognize this is a solid run, I don’t care for the flavor profile. It’s a little chemically or medicinal finish to me. It may be the Jamaican style I don’t care for. It reminds me a little of the way a peaty scotch finished. I prefer bourbon and American / Canadian whiskey to peaty scotch, so that probably explains it. It’s not the age either I don’t think since I prefer the El Dorado 12 to the 15 or 21…
Got a dram of this in the advent calendar. The sipping was enjoyable, but not a favourite of mine. Dryer than I'd normally choose.
Je n’avais pas de grandes attentes en achetant ce rhum, mais j’ai été agréablement surpris!
Ce rhum a du caractère ! Rond en bouche, la persistance de sa finale est envoûtante. Cacao, vanille, noix de Coco, un assemblage d’un remarquable résultat qui vous amènera tout droit en République dominicaine, en 3 secondes... Le rapport qualité / prix est plus qu’excellent!

Bardzo dobry trunek. Czuć wieloletnie leżakowanie w beczkach. W smaku delikatny aczkolwiek z nutą ostrości. Wanilia, toffi. Finisz dosyć długi. Alkohol świetnie zamaskowany. Idealny do picia solo. W mojej ocenie szkoda go do drinków.

Dvojité zrenie rumu nechalo charakter. Najskôr po bourbone , neskôr po Sherry. Z toho asi vyplýva sladkosť, vôňa tmavého ovocia. V chuti znatelne kakao a karamel. Krátky záver a skôr nuda.
Expected much more. How does a rum aged for 14 years turn out this bland and lifeless? No complexity. No balance. No mas!
This was lovely. Had it at a bar. Although what amazes me about brugal anejo for example is the crazy crazy value proposition I actually really enjoy the brugals. This was is similar again in family. Nice sweetness but not cloying. A little one note but still lovely. The older specialer ones have some extra barrel complexity that I really like... A general lovely rum.
