it's good, it's just not my rum to go back to. would still mix it rather then sip it, hence the 7.

Of the rums I have tried recently, this one had a taste that I couldn't quite identify the first few times I tried it. This last time I decided that leather best described what I was tasting, a first for me. Later on in the glass I could taste the oakiness that I had expected. Overall a nice sipping experience.

Has that distinctive Dominican flavour that is crisp and hints of sweet grass. Very smooth finish...almost goes down too easy. Definitely a new distinct one for my top shelf.

Well balanced rum good price. Not so sweet with a well-defined body.

I get subtle top notes of brown and icing sugars. Some dryness and wood, particularly on the finish. There's a little sweetness. It doesn't balance out the dryness, but does add a nice counterpoint. Appreciable burn on the long finish.

It's light in the way I'm beginning to associate with column stills. The second maturation has done its job of softening the dryness and adding another of flavour.

Overall though, its relative thinness, and the depth of its burn count against it. Right now, I'm much more drawn towards the Chairman's Reserve Legacy and the ED8, I have open alongside.
Right now it's a 5. Hoping I warm to it along the way.

Alkohol: 40 %
Původ: Dominikánská republika
Aroma: Hodně cedru, trocha kůže a hřebíčku, nové koření, kakao, celkově vyznívá hodně kořenitě a hřejivě. (87 b)

I really enjoy this rum. Neat or mixed with some lime juice and coconut water, there is a lot of things happening with this rum to me. Sweet and dry, spicy and smooth, it seems like there is a lot going on in here but nothing ever comes front and center to my palate. It's just a pleasurable rum that always has a little taste surprise each time and way I drink it.

Full of tannin flavor and dry like a good red wine. I don’t personally drink red wine, so I personally don’t like this one.
