IT is a Nice caramel coloured rum, long after taste, a little Sharp, a little spicey. Overall a balanced sipping rum.

Igazából nagyon billeget a 7 és a 8 pont között lehet hogy megérdemelné a magasabb pontszámot, jó rum, ajánlom.

it could have been a very good rum but hydrometer test say 12 grams of sugar per liter but ok you don t feel it s so sweet, actually it s good, try it with some cuban cigar (they re naturally sweet)

Dry and woody, but it has something interesting and complex that is hard to describe, as is mentioned in other reviews.

Was not a fan when I first tried this. It’s very dry and oaky, albeit smooth. Upon a second and third tasting it grew on me quite a bit. If you don’t like sweet rum this is definitely one to consider. I don’t think I’ll rush back to buy it again, but I don’t feel bad about the purchase either.

Update: upgrading rating from 6 to 8. I went from not loving it to it being one of the first rums I reach for when I want a neat pour. As I said before, not the best choice of you prefer sweeter rums, but the finishing in sherry casks gives it a unique flavor profile.

I’ve been meaning to try a Brugal rum for a while but each time I was at the liquor store something else would always catch my attention instead so I finally decided to try one.

The first thing you notice on the nose is a strong cocoa and chocolate scent which then gave away to caramel and vanilla in the first taste. However, in each sip a new flavor would emerge which shows you how well balanced this rum is. Definitely a good sipper!

This came recommended by a Dominican friend who labels this the best the island has to offer. I've tried a number of Brugals and this is the best of the bunch, but it can't match Punta Cana Tesoro for quality, even though it is in the same price bracket. Maybe I'm not such a fan of Dominican rum, but for me the 1888 is just above average.

Nothing special... unfortunately. There are many better (and cheaper rums) out there.

Brugal 1888 - za ty peníze celkem málo muziky. Neříkám že je špatný. Chuťově mi sedi. Ale cena lahve by měla být o něco nižší.

Not very complex but very smooth. No harsh burn or sweetness from added sugar.
