Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

All good things must have a beginning, this is Bacardí's. The rums of Puerto Rico are highly distilled and charcoal filtered, which gives it like a vodka profile. Since that and the fact that it is aged one year, Bacardí's Superior taste it's mostly from their yeast strain (and obviously alcohol)...one that I find quite special. Dry, smooth, sweet coconut vainilla. I like to use it for piña colada.

Not as good as i thought it would be, but this was my first white rum, so i don't have much experience with white rum.

I have never seen this as a sipping rum only as a rum for mixing cocktails, it's good together with a coke and some ice cubes.

Around here, this is what you get when you order rum in a bar. I always have to specify: "Not Bacardi, and not white!". OK, It's cheaper than most other rums. And still people drink it, apparently, because it is stocked everywhere. How deep can a rum that was once Cuban fall?

A lot of people gate on this because it's mass market, but it makes a darn good daiquiri, is affordable, and mixes well in just about anything.

I can't see any redeemable quality in this. It might as well be pure grain.

I love this Rum for making all my rum favorite frozen concoctions. I does not interfere with and of the tastes or smells of fruits or other flavors I add.

This is not a sipping rum. It doesn't make a good rum and coke but is ok Ina rum punch, where you don't want too much rum flavour.
