United States | Light | 40% ABV

Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

I have a handle of this sitting on my cabinet It's a last resort mixer for whoever wants some. Can't say I haven't drank my share of it in my day and would still have a Bacardi n coke in a pinch cuz it's often the only rum available at a bar.

I am not a fan of clear rums, and this is the reason why.

This is a very standard mixer. Nothing special about it.

I don't get all the negative ratings. Would you make a Mojito with Mount Gay? Probably not. Would I sip Bacardi Superior? Nope. You use what is appropriate. This makes good mixed drinks, as its intended to do.

A rum to make America proud again? Not really. This spirity thing should almst not be sold to people. They might never drink rum again...which indeed would be a shame.

I actually drink it in Thailand....because it is the only rum readily avaliable there...but maybe I was drunk already?

This is my go to rum for mixing with Coke or Dr. Pepper. You can use a healthy dose of this rum with cola or Dr Pepper and have a very nice strong drink.
