Like many, we tried this in Costa Rica. We went on a search to find it in the US and were happy to find good ol' Publix Liquors carries it in Florida. It's a smooth rum and is great in a Cuba Libre. I wouldn't call it a sipping rum at all, it's more geared towards mixed drinks. Oddly, the 7 year tastes more like a sipping rum to me.

Beautiful amber color with a well balanced picy, round taste with hints of vanilla and tobacco and yet a strong presence of alcohol. Really good.

It is very sweet and smooth. Easy to drink. If you prefer sweeter rums, you can't miss this.

Eva’s Caribbean Kitchen in Laguna Beach is a rum lovers haven and Eva is a rum encyclopedia. Over 400 I think at her restaurant and she knows each and can guide you in what to drink. I am probably a 5 of 10 in fine rum knowledge but she is a 15. After we discussed my favorites she recommends this and was spot on. Molasses and vanilla of course, with a touch of cashew or some other nut. This is the smoothest rum I have tried and not as sweet as others like Zacapa but has enough sweetness to make this my top rum.

First of all very good price, less than 40€ !
Battle very simple, they care only about what is in the bottle. Starting from the first smell coming from the glass:
- soft flover running in the nose, no alcool punch but soft plum and caramel
- density perfect, in the glass you could see the mark leave from the rhum
- forst zip in the mouth plain but interesting, very balance sweetness with a bouque of fruit like plam, nuts little accent of cinnamong but the best in coming after swallow ... amazing sense of First of all very good price, less than 40€ !

In one word... WOW !
I tested more than 40 rhum.. one of the best 5.
In one word ... WOW

Una delicia, mucha suavidad y mucho chocolate. En el paladar no quema ni un poquito. Una dulzura bien lograda.

I compare this very favourably to my go-to El Dorado 12/15. It is similarly sweet and smooth, but the sweetness and the vanilla flavour are both more subtle. Add a slightly better 'afterburn', and this could be just about the best regular sipping rum around (for me). It's a shame it isn't easier to find.

Picked up a bottle of this tonight. First time trying Ron Centenario as it's always a few $s more than others in similar class. But wow...it's good. Tad on the sweet side. But just delicious. Tried neat + on the rocks, but I think the best way will be to chill bottle in the freezer and drink neat / frozen glass. The flavors are a tad spicy on the aftertaste + complex and ice takes a bit of that away. But this is some darn good rum. Will spend the $ and try the 25 yr next.
