Bacardi 8 rum

Bacardi 8

United States | Aged | 40% ABV

Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.

This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

And was not that bad. And a great value. In the nose i smell dried fruits, caramel. Very light burn and taste of alcohol witz dark chocolate and brown sugar but nit to sweet. And ling lasting.

From affordable well accessible bottles of Bacardi this is the only one worth mentioning. With good sale, you can enjoy its distinctive but mild burn and aroma of banana and nuts for decent price. It is well rounded with hints of little burned caramel. Bacardi can't cross my doorstep, but this one is only exception (not counting Oakheart, it's different league). Well, I'm suprised this is decent sipper, but it is. If you wanna hnot expensive and expendable sipper, this is maybe good pick.

Much better than the regular stuff that Barcardi puts out. Has some smokey notes and is fairly smooth.
Would prefer it to be a bit more complex.

If you're looking for a decent rum and an inexpensive price, you could do lots worse.

I believe that Rums begin to change their distinct taste after 8 years. After that, they lose their essence as a Rum. To me, Bacardi 8 is truly one of those rums that carry that tradition "Rum bite," flavor, taste, and experience. It goes well neat and with coke.

Strong growth and very smoky. Pressed a touch and it brought out the flavours, and made the smoke enjoyable. Not the greatest rum, but the best thing I have had with Bacardi on the bottle
