Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Top Rum von Plantation.
Am Anfang etwas scharf aber sΓΌss im Gaumen.
....you can get the XO taste put of this rhum but smoothness is not there. Also lack some sweetness for my taste..
I want to rate this higher like most people but as Iβm new to rum( 4 weeks trying sipping rums at the moment ) I just canβt understand it and tastes a bit harsh to me compared with some of the other ones Iβm trying . Hopefully later when I understand more about what Iβm experiencing Iβll come back and understand it a bit better
Fruity, with hints of caramel, maybe a little too sweet for my liking but still a very drinkable rum.
You won't find any better at this price. You may find hard to find better at all. Sweetness level in this is perfect balance. This is rum at it finest, you will love it sipping solo - putting it in to cocktail is nonsense* ;)

Nice smooth, bit stick, sweet, light fruity aroma, stays long taste.
Smooth and not too sweet, with a lot of character. Vanilla and coconut are dominant.
A golden smooth and sweet rum with a hint of coconut at the finish.
Not a bad rum, but Plantation have better, and worse, rums in their line up.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is a great sipping rum! I find the palate more interesting than the nose. On the nose I get integrated wood, brown sugar, spice and a faint smell of beeswax and Bosc pear. The palate has some sweetness but itβs not obtrusive, and carries lovely molasses and caramel flavours into the long finish, that also has a touch of a burn. I think this is solid 8 for me, nothing more or less. The bottle cannot fail to impress, either.
