Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Got it for my birthday. This one take's me back to the feeling of an real pirate
This is truly a great rum. The bottle and colour is lovely and when first opened it has a lovely sweet floral nose. After is sits for a bit you will get more vanilla, cocoa and a bit of cinnamon in the nose and body. Great balance with tremendous smoothness and a lovely finish from being aged cognac barrels.
If you see this bottle and you enjoy the good things in life....buy the bottle.
I had some expectations from this one and it lived up to that. The bottle looks great with the very big cap on top of it. Very classy!
The nose is smooth. Not too sweet. I'm not very good at smelling or tasting all kinds of different ingredients, but there's a certain smell that I noticed in the Grande Reserva too. I think it's raisins. Very nice.
The taste is about the same as the smell. Nice and smooth. Leave it in the glass for a few minutes to get the full aroma. For about 55 euro quite expensive, but worth it.
This is a great rum. i was just expecting more from it.
The smell is instantly cask. Strong wood smell. Earthy at its finest. Having it straight for the first drink with it. Seconds in, i tske my first drink, strong. You csn feel the alcohol instantly following is that cask taste. With s dry feeling left in the mouth. Clearly a sipping rum. I hsve no ice currently and have yet to drink it mixed. Little to no burn however. Odd sense you tatse the alcohol in it so fast but yet it doesnt burn. Rather plain actually. Fairly disappointed in this one given ots my most expensive rum. However the bottle presentation is flawless. I must have a few more drinks of this to give it a fair rating. So I'll be updating after this glass and it airs out.
Very VERY smooth. Definite hints of Vanilla, Coconut, Banana, and Cask. Well worth the price.
an absolute delight!! a true sipper... excellent presentation, and liquid gold on the inside! pairs great with a rafael Gonzales petit corona!! enjoy
Love everything about this rum, won't break the bank, nice colour, seems to be very balanced with the taste, the usual vanilla and caramel. This is my second most opened bottle of 2016, and I just got another bottle today! It comes in a nice looking bottle to help make it a great experience, very easy to drink, very little burn, look forward to finding more of the Plantation range, just wish I knew where to find some of the more rare ones!
And what a treat, as a reasonably new person to quality rum (this is the 6 decent bottle I've tried), this has pretty much shot to the top of my list. It's low burn, and deep flavour is tremendous.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

This one has gone through cognac barrels and therefor has some spice. But it has also sweet scents of vanilla caramell and cocos. This is a good one form the start to the finish.
