Smooth as silk, lovely taste. Can't recommend enough. Wish it was easier to find.

This is my first full size bottle of Rodney and boy is it good! Everything about this product, from the packaging and oversized cap to the smell and taste is exquisite. I know it's probably sacrilege, but I mix this with Pepsi for an ultra luxurious mix. One of my absolute favourite rums!

After just finishing sample of Princessa I find Royal oak with significant more depth and longer lasting flavor. Blend aged 7-12 years white oak bourbon casks really mellowed this rum out. Quite nice.

Calendrier de l'avent 2021, jour 15. Très bon rhum de dégustation avec un beau nez et un bon goût en bouche.

Lets start off with the design: it looks amazing! Nice bottle, interesting backstory and great colour of the drink itself.

The smell is not very prominent but there are some fruity elements in there to discover. Then the taste: again not very outspoken from the start but very, very smooth, without any too predominant sweetness or alcohol taste. Realy elegant and enjoyable. The aftertaste is spicy and has a nice duration. Remote but present burn, just the way I like it. Watch out, because this will be flying out of your glass! Cheers!

I got this as bday gift and was looking forward to taste it as the low local availability and price tag implied that this should be some extra ordinary stuff. I must honestly say it isnt. Dont get me wrong, its a great rum, nice sipper, smells fruity, vanilla like with just a little alcohol. However, the taste is too much liquor-ish with lots of orange flavors. Reminds me from far far away of Don Papa and Pyrat (although different in general but rum tasters will get me for sure). Quite a lot alcohol and afterburn. I had few glasses, one also with chocolate, one with cigar, and although it was a nice experience I am not planning on buying this one. Maybe I try it in the future, I am quite interested in others in HMS family

First of all I really love the smell. Woody, a pinch of smoke and sweetness just smells amazing. The taste is light and goes down smooth but has a bit of a soft after burner.

It is a great rum if you like a light woody taste that is smooth with a small kick to it.

8,5:At first, this rum is more woody. This slightly dusty oak seems to have been well toasted and rested for many years. As if the wood had been lightly rubbed and then blown on it, a small cloud of material appears in the light, made of old wood soaked in brandy, nut powder, spices and fragrant bark.Latter on we continue with tropical fruits like orange peel, mangoes and ripe peaches.
Aeration adds details of the barrel: nuts such as walnuts, almond, cocoa, the mineral character of the toasting of the surface of the wood, roasted spices or even very black coffee. All this is finely coated with caramel and molasses, but without sticking, simply to avoid an overly powdery nose.
8,3:The entry in the mouth is both round and woody, with well-toasted oak but also very caramelized and coated with molasses. The atmosphere is therefore rather dark. The spices and nuts are also roasted, and just like the wood, are rolled in a molasses mixed with honey, white wood, caramel, vanilla, tobacco and a little orange zest.
8,2:The finish continues with these pleasant aromas and with the orange, which sometimes comes a bit bitter and some dried fruits.
