I prefer a lighter 'white' rum with less character in my daiquiris.
Lately I've been cutting rums like Plantation 3 star, Probitas, and 10 to 1 white, white a clean clear Bacardi in my daiquiris. I highly recomend it.
Use 1 oz of Bacardi to 1/4 oz of Plantation.
Plantation 3 star makes a great main spirit in a 12 mile limit.
My bad; I was used to the aged rum. Hardly imagined to sip light rum. Today it's tested on animal(s)😎
In three words this is pleasure mix of:
Barbados on the nose;
Trinidad on palate;
Jamaica at aftertaste,
Approximately\in summary they all are just the perfect sugar cane from the(a) world.
The 41+° doesn't bother at all. I wish to get it even at 5+!
There are citrus, herbal, flowers notes hard to discover in 7+yo. Surprise! This is light rum! And there were some fruits, are they from newly discovered exoplanet?
Absolutely smooth and .. enlightenment guaranteed by
Bravo Plantation!
P.s.edit: minus one point. There was something from Haiti Clairin
My go-to white rum for cocktails. Plantation 3-star makes a phenomenal El Presidente, among other things.
For me this has one purpose only - to mix in whatever takes your fancy. Its smooth with a creamy texture but its almost tasteless and lacks any individual character worthy of a second purchase. Compared this directly to the Mojito god (Havana Club 3) and was a distant second. The group consensus was most of the females preferred this and the males the HC.
Rhum surprenant très fruité typé exotique. J'aime beaucoup ce rhum il est doux et puissant sur la canne fraiche
Good solid rum for mixing, dont taste alot, så dont enterfear with other rum notes in drinks
It’s mainly a nose of strong alcohol.
"Initially it sips quite well and is reasonably smooth but it is has a very strong taste when swallowed."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I know a lot of folks really adore this rum, so I might be in the minority here.... Unfortunately, I find it quite molasses-dominant in both the nose and palette, with little else going on for me. I don't particularly enjoy sipping it (but it is smooth, and goes down easily). Even in mixed cocktails I find that molasses to be somewhat overbearing. The Daiquiri is my favorite cocktail, and this barely passes for me in that drink. I prefer many other light rums to this one for the Daiquiri. It is a reasonable value though, and everyone should try it. I don't regret buying it, and I'll keep mixing it into other cocktails to give it a chance to find a place in my bar. Perhaps I'll be back to adjust this review at some point. I really did want to love this rum, but I'm not there just yet!
