With the aroma, you expect strong flavors.
But itβs fairly clean. I get mild vanilla and whisky like, quickly gone, then slight heat.
Saving it for mixing in tiki drinks which call for that type .. needing that ester.

An undosed Plantation rum from Jamaica with a welcome amount of funk and smokiness that adds a bourbon-ish feeling to both the nose and the mouth. As expected has a good amount of banana and pineapple notes and feels older than it is. Works well for sipping and in a daiquiri. I am excited to try it in a Kingston Negroni as I expect it will blend wonderfully.
The more I drink this, the more I like it. Very much like a traditional Jamaican, and strong, but not overpowering which allows for some of the more subtle flavors to come out. I am almost finished with my (small) glass, and thereβs a spiciness to the (cinnamon?) which makes for a nice dessert. If I can find more next fall I will definitely be adding it to my egg nog.
Tried this the first time as a lil treat from the bartenders at the Inferno Room, as part of their shift drink. This review is from notes 8/8/21 at Laka Lono.
This rum is so totally identifiable as a pot still rum!
The vanilla flavor is omnipresent and yummy!
At The Rum House in Manhattan. Nice rum list. This is so dry and soft. Nice rum. Plenty of funk on the nose but a really light Delivery that breezes over the tongue and across the pallet. Light, dry, wispy with a soft bite that is sumptuous. Finish is ethereal and evaporates smoothly. Wish it were longer. Thanks Plantation for not pounding us senseless with skunk funk like Smith & Cross or Dr Bird. This shows how Jamaican funk can soar.
A really nice spicy delivery.
"Quite spicy, quite a lot of heat β white pepper, ginger and all spice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Tasted from a tiny sample bottle: average in all respects.
