Salon du Rhum Spa 2018 - plutôt sympa mieux que le jamaica "normal"
Great body. Strong but round and with a delightful lengthy ending.
I haven't had much experience with Jamaican rums, yet, but knowing that I have enjoyed the Plantation brand, I knew I would enjoy this one. I could taste banana and pineapple, however not overly sweet either. I enjoyed this one neat and will have to try on the rocks.
A lovely dry rum , basically comes from Jamaican stocks that plantation have released as prrof that they can still produce good rums without dosing the liquid with suger.
On taste your palate is shown flavours of bannana and pineapple and loads of Jamaican funk!!
The aftertaste is beautifully dry which for me personally is a bit too dry and I'm a massive dry rum fan ...
Great showing

I was very pleased with this rum! Nice smell, lively fruity flavor, well composed taste...
Carmalized banana and syrupy pineapple lead among drying herbal notes and prickles of brown spices. This 100% pot still Jamaican rum made with a blend of spirits from Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries, which Maison Ferrand now owns a third of after purchasing the West Indies Rum Distillery in 2017. Master blender Alexandre Gabriel created the Xaymaca (pronounced zay-muck-uh) brand, which is the original name for Jamaica that the indigenous Arawaks, who inhabited Jamaica well before Columbus set foot on the island in 1494, gave it. Xaymaca actually means 'land of wood and water.'
Un rhum sec avec des notes de fumé et de noix.
Très bien équilibré.
This rum has some amazing components so it's amazing that it's so boring. Its like Jamaica-lite....but too lite. It could've and should've been so much more. Quite saddening.
A really nice spicy delivery.
"Quite spicy, quite a lot of heat – white pepper, ginger and all spice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Is this stuff a hallmark, a standard to which you should hold other jamaican rums? Absolutely not! But, does this stuff taste good? Why yes, yes it does!! Heavy handed with the normal tropical fruit stuff you expect from Plantation (pineapple, champagne mango) but dirtied up with some distinct green olive flavor, and just enough funk dancing around the edges. It's a great, great thing to try, but I would definitely recommend trying before committing to a full bottle.
