Better have it mixed than drunk on the rocks.
Nothing amazing at all
This rum has a rich golden colour (in the bottle), with a hint of reddness. It smells a little strong, with a touch of sweetness as well. Sipping it straight, it is a bit too alcohol tasting for me, although it is fairly smooth with a little smokey flavour. Makes a fairly strong 'jamaican rum' flavoured rum and cola. Not my first choice, not pretty good. Kind of a weird age for my thinking... too mature/heavy flavoured for an easy drinking mixer, but too immature and not complex/flavourful enough for a sipper...
This rum was nasty no matter how I drank it. I tried it straight and it left a disgusting after taste in my mouth. I tried it mixed with the same results. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Their are a lot better rums to choose from.
i use this as the lighter rum in my Mai Tai. I actually like it quite a bit and the dry finish adds nice touch to mixed drinks.
Very nice rum either on rocks or with cola, great aroma and color
Chutný, vôbec nie sladký, výrazne korenisty rum. O niečo horší ako 12 tka.
A little harsh but not overwhelmingly so. Has a noticeable spiciness to it with only hints of sweetness (especially the aftertaste). Beautiful amber color. Nice rum but not a sipper IMHO. A very good mixing rum. I get a noticable oak flavor to it and a butteriness believe it or not. Good stuff. Definitely one to have onhand for mixed drinks.
A no frills, all around good Jamaican rum. The finish is not overly rough, but not smooth either. It could be sipped, but I prefer to use it for mixed drinks. My favorite rum for classic Mai-Tai's.
Avec une robe dorée, et un nez fruité, il dévoile des arômes de banane, puis tire sur la vanille sur la fin. Je l'utilise principalement en cocktail avec son apport sucré.
Entry-level rum in the Appleton Estate family

One of the most ancient distilleries of them all

Gives a fairly pungent scent of molasses, black pepper and sweet alcohol.
"A touch of vanilla and ginger. There is still a hit of molasses on the nose and some spiced black pepper. The rum is quite delicate initially. It is a hot spicy rum."
