Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

To me this rum was smooth, flavorful, great neat or with ice. I had the pleasure of being in Cuba for a couple weeks and this is a rum I could always drink and enjoy. Great with a cigar. Great spice notes and flavors and all around great rum. I brought a bottle back for Thanksgiving with family and it disappeared...quick...everyone liked it.
Not tried neat yet but goes great with a dash of coke. Great rum for the price one that should be in everyone’s drinks armoury.
Cuban rum is on the menu tonight. Trying the 7 year. It has a beautiful copper hue and sticky legs clinging to the side of the glass. The nose is full of tropical fruits including coconut and banana. You can also pick up some deeper notes of tobacco and wood. There is no offensive alcohol burn. Unfortunately this rum disappoints a little on the pallet. It's delightfully smooth and dry, with pleasant but short finish. However, I was hoping the flavors would match the nose, but there was very little sign of those flavors. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other offerings from this brand, and I'm hopeful that they offer more depth of flavor. 🥃
Good rum, and you can buy it everywhere... nice flavor.
HC7 is an lovely enjoyable and easy to drink rum. Specifying the 7 years, HC pay more tax on this rum than the ones that are 5 year (usually named special or Especial) which reflects in the price.
Having said that though it is an excellent rum - a good aged rum to mix with cola and lime for a classic cuba libre.
I've also noticed that most bars (certainly here in the UK) tend to have this as their top level rum over the usual CM or SJ so chances are you can enjoy this out and about too!
I love this rum and would drink it more often if it wasn't a pain to get. People typically comment on the earthy, bold, leathery, and "intense" flavors, and that is no accident. Spicy foods and full-bodied cigars can easily overpower spirits, but this one was designed to hold it's own. For a 7 year old rum, it's much smoother than other rums aged twice as long. This particular Havanna Club deserves a mid to high 7s rating.
Made me think about An upgraded carta negra, richer in flavour but a lot smoother to drink neat.
Forse il miglior ron per rapporto qualitá/prezzo, per circa 20 € ci si porta a casa un gran prodotto
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
