Interesting and this is in a better class than bacardi, lambs and Captain but far from a sipper. lack of options drew me to this and felt it was much better suited as a mixer. I'm not disappointed that I've now tried it. I am becoming quite fond of HC!

4,5:The nose immediately takes us into familiar territory: a fruity rum, with very little wood and enough alcohol to appear in a festive cocktail. Although it's classified as a light rum, there's no mistaking its nature and confusing it with any other white spirit: it is indeed a rum.
A little opening will bring out tangy, floral aromas, between lychee and heady tropical flowers. Whatever happens, it remains very smooth and docile.
4,8:On the palate, the rum swirls into thousands of fiery droplets. The alcohol takes effect and refreshes the mouth. The aromas are discreet and rather fine, with the freshness of a redcurrant or raspberry still firm.
4:The finish leaves a light, rather dry rum taste that quickly fades.

Drinking neat it is not amazing but when you'd compare it to a rum like bacardi white or Flor de Cana white it is much smoother and has nice cane notes. The nose is also much improved over those. This is a great choice for traditional mojito's or a daiquiri.

I didnät like this earlier but now this is one of the best rums for a Daiquiri. Very welcoming aroma. Only slight fruityness in the flavor.

Mixer not sipping rum. Mojitos were perfect, but I didn’t dare to sip. Didn’t pair well with Coke so maybe my official Mojito starter!

Really like the way this bottle goes in a daiquiri.

This is a great cocktail rum. It's not a great sipper so it knows it's place.

This is the Rum that really pleasantly surprised me with how pleasant it was with it's presentation. Smooth and rich, Standalone or mixed its a pleasurable experience. Sublime. The 7 year was even better though, as expected.

It is just a 3 year old rum, so I would not drink it straight. Works well in cocktails. Smooth

My introduction to rum, but I think it's held up pretty well as my tastes have evolved.

Edit: Had to ding it a couple points after it came dead last in a daiquiri blind test. Still a decent rum given the reasonable price tag, but I don't hold it in as high esteem anymore.
