As Belize was where I got the taste of rum, I was pleasantly happy to come across this rum, it is a mix of flavours, with quite a strong taste from the bourbon barrels is lived in for some time. This is fine as a sipping rum, but also mixes well. Certainly one of those rums, that when in stock, I will never pass it by.
Bought this on a whim at the airport not expecting a whole lot, but this is a great one. There are some flavours that are reminiscent to the older 20Y XO brother. This one however has a 'lighter' taste profile which makes it very pleasant and easy to drink. Would recommend
Very pleasant aroma. Caramel, nuts, and a bit of fruits. A bit on the sweet side.
Buono. Va giù che é un piacere. Forse un po' troppa pera per i miei gusti.
Plantationnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Rum is wonderful. A very good combination of price and quality, which was a pleasant surprise. Suitable for an evening in the company, as he does not need to breathe for a long time to reveal his aroma and play of taste.
On the palate, you can feel honey, fruits, almonds, milk chocolate and the finish of a cognac barrel. Luckily, the bourbon aging didn't leave much of a mark on the palate, which we're even glad about.
This was the first rum I purchased out of the USA to bring home. I have always been fond of Plantation offerings and was looking for something that would be difficult to find in the US while in Paris last spring. This is what I settled on and I was not disappointed.
With all of that being said, do note bias may play heavily in this review. I had fun finding this and bringing it home and I'm sure that affects my state of mind when tasting.
Most of my rums have been centered around my tiki hobby. This was the second rum I purchased with the intent of drinking neat (my first was Privateer Queen's Share). I find this to be an easy sipper with some nice barrel character, but not too much. Main tasting note is vanilla with a light fruit. Not great a picking out what fruit exactly. More complex on the after taste.
From what I can tell it's hard to ever find a bottle in the US for sale, so my recommendation is snatch it if you can find it. Especially if you like Plantation rums.
Edit: Updated rating. After tasting other rums like Real McCoy 12 this has moved from 9 to 8.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Összetett illatú és zamatú rum, abszolút érdemes megkóstolni! De pont az egyedi, kissé borsos íze miatt nekem mégsem lett a kedvencem.
