El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Really good as a mixer but i found it a bit rough by itself
It was good enough for my girlfriend to drink most of the bottle but neither one of us found it very remarkable. Still worth a try.

Smooth and sweet, but with a bite of alcohol. Very typical rum aroma with a more complex taste. Worth its price.
An amazing rum that got me hooked on drinking rum straight - no mix. Always come back to it or the 15 yr. Amazing in egg nog or rum cake over the holidays...and for the price, can do!
Première bouteille de rhum autre que bacardi que je m'offre et franchement je regrette une chose. Ne pas l'avoir acheté plus tôt. Il a un parfum exceptionnel et un goût unique même si il "pique" un peu les lèvres.

This is a rum to recommend for beginner rum fans. It is an exceptional rum at below exceptional pricing. The 15 year old is slightly different with some more oak imparted, but I prefer its cheaper and less aged version. If you want to move up but pay the price to the 21 year old it is a good rum too.
I always keep this rum on my shelf.
