El Dorado 12-Year

For the price point i wanted just a bit more of everything. Cheaper rums do the same job of mixing in a blender for less dough

This was my first exposure to Guyanese Rums several years ago and is always in the drinks cabinet.

Don't just read reviews, go and buy it. I've been lucky to sample and purchase the 12, 15 and 21 year old El Dorado Rums, and do them justice, drink neat, no mixers, ice if you like, but nothing else.
I'm still to try the 25yr old (but thats quite big money) but the 12yr old is excellent value, just won Gold Medal at the first ever Caribbean Rum Awards "Guyana’s El Dorado 12 took home the crown as the Best Rum"
Make fantastic 'Freddie G' (Guyanese rum, Ginger Ale (Fever Tree is best) lots of ice and lime slice and squeezed fresh lime juice) fantastic in the summer for a relaxing long drink with good company and friends.

Un classico rum secco e beverino, ma intenso nel finale

I was very hyped about this before I tried it, and what a let down. ok! Not that as if the world had ended but big enough for me... Just by the label I was expecting too much. Demarara, 12 years old, Finest... But as you know by now, the labels are not a worthy information holder on rum bottles. This rum is good for mixing and no-so-bad for sipping, but I rather stay with ginger ale addings.

Ce rhum a une rondeur en bouche incroyable. Comme on peut s’y attendre, le goût est complexe. Je dirais que ce sont d’agreables notes de vanille qui sortent du lot. Ce rhum vieux déclasse complètement les rhums jeunes de El Dorado que je trouve quelconques. M’a convaincu d’explorer les rhums vieux mais je n’ai pas toujours été aussi enchanté qu’avec celui-ci. Le prix est aussi excellent. /

Incredible smoothness. As many noted, vanilla flavors. Yes, that’s sweet as a candy but hey, that’s rum not an American IPA. This affordable 12 year rum convinced me to explore other rhum vieux but sometimes the price is a turn-off.

Очень хорош, 15-летний, конечно, по-благороднее будет, но по вкусности 12 ни сильно уступает. Намного приятнее того же Dictador 20.

Tres bon rhum pour le prix, tres abordable, à acheter sans faute

It's tasteful and easy for the throat, a real everyday rum. Full of zen and shoulders down attitude, perfect after a long work day.
