El Dorado 12-Year rum

El Dorado 12-Year

Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Best rum ABC in Florida had and it does taste good,
I do not have a pallet for Rum and trusted the sites reviews and was not disappointed.

One of my first aged rums. Smell is great with hints of vanilla, caramel and molasses. Rum is sweet and you can feel fruit, caramel, spice and little bit of oak. Finish is with little alcohol burn.

Dark, smokey, rick oak like tones. Citrus. Very enjoyable on the rocks, but I have tastier rums in my cabinet. A bit sharp in the back of my mouth. Still not bad at all.
Tastes fair, no additives in my taste.

Smells of caramel, tastes quite sweet. Not a bad bite by any means, especially at the price point. Flavour is one dimensional but it’s definitely tasty for a baseline kind of rum. Found it on sale for $27 CAD which is a steal (usually around $35 CAD). There are a lot of rums at twice this price that have the same amount of flavour in my opinion. El Dorado 12 is a great place to start if you’re just getting into drinking rum neat.

Rich taste, perfect bite at the finish. So far, it’s at the top of my list.

My brother bought this for me as a gift and it was my top rum for a while. Knocked off a little because of sweetness level, but little to complain about otherwise. Lovely sipping rum. Smooth, with rolling layers of flavour. I want one now...

This is my first rum ever. Awesome rum to begin drinking rum. Not as sweet as the diplomatica reserva, but that's a good thing in my opinion. I love it.

Süss und fruchtig am Gaumen.
In der Nase eher interessanter.

It's certainly a characteristically Demerara rum. Naturally sweet and subtly smoky - it's got layers. But I haven't found it to be bursting with flavor that make me dying to come back for more.

It's very Nice to try out, but all things considered, i'd rather take a different rum. It starts really smooth, but has an aftertaste
