El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

This one is what you want from a good drink. Smooth and round due to the stay in oak barrels used for bourbon.
Picked this up off a recommendation and I couldn't be happier! Such a wonderful taste over a small amount of ice!

Suffice to say, I am glad to be visiting these notes to recollect how much I enjoy this rum.
I’m not the biggest fan of Demerara rums, but this one is really good. It’s easy to drink this one. Some rums get overly wood-y with age, but this one keeps its flavor nicely.
My favourite run I’ve tried, just fantastic, rich demarara flavour with hints of vanilla, oak, toffee and dried fruits

A great rum to have laying around for every day drinking. This one is full of caramel and a great finish. Enjoy it if you can find it!
