Plantation Original Dark Trinidad

This is my go to for rum based cocktails, especially rum. Sours!

Sweet and kind of liqueur-like on the nose. Taste is sweet and surprisingly smooth for it's price, although too short and keeps reminding me of a liqueur instead of a rum

Quick burn, but fades quickly. Flavor lingers a long time. Notes of caramel and vanilla.

It’s my favorite cheap rum
It has great mix-ability for tiki cocktails or an old fashioned and it can be a cheap sipping rum.

You can feel the Plantation koncept but keep in mind there are a lot of better variants i.e. Plantation Barbados XO but also to dubbel the price.

Der Plantation Original Dark ist irgendwie abgefahren im Geschmack. Aber lest selbst...

Preis: ca. 14-18€

Geruch:
Ganz klar ist hier die Alkoholschärfe des 3-jährigen Havana Clubs zu riechen. Aber da wo dieser keine weitere Note aufweist, überrascht der Plantation Original Dark mit...was ist das?...Banane? Es riecht irgendwie fruchtig und dennoch schwer.

Geschmack pur (Note 3):
Der Geruchseindruck setzt sich hier fort. Allerdings kommt eine gewisse Süße hinzu. Dennoch nicht pur zu genießen, da der Alkohol klar im Vordergrund steht.

Geschmack in Cola (Note 5):
Okay, schmeckt wie beschrieben. Allerdings wird die Alkoholschärfe etwas milder und der Geschmack noch süßer in der Cola. Im Prinzip ist es ein etwas süßerer 3-jähriger Havana Club mit Bananengeschmack(?). Irgendwie anders und abgefahren. Von daher 5 Punkte insgesamt.
Kommt nicht an den Pampero heran.

Fruktig, söt, bränt socker.
Mild söt smak.
Oljig, fyllig och rund.
Helt ok.

I have'nt tried the old version so i cant really make a comparisson between the two. This new one is said to contain some rum from Jamaica and is double aged in different barrels.
Nose: warm and sweet with fudge, chocolatte and vanilla.
Mouth: first tastes like cognac, (guess its the jamaican part) then it gets spicy with a sweet lingering flavour.
Very priceworthy, i like it :-)

I love to mix this into mai tais and other tiki drinks. It's tasty but not overpowering. It's unique but not "acquired taste." For the price it punches well above its weight class.

Na to že to je nejlevnější základní Plantation je to víc než pitelný rum. Karamelová vůně . A v chuti opět karamel a kouř. Akorát pocitově má víc než 40% , je fakt silný .
