If you don't like sweet Rum don't try this. It is definitely sweet. So me, this makes it a wonderful pairing with a good cigar. The caramel flavors are very forward with a nice mellow molasses present. it also has a touch of nice cinnamon spice to it that's not overbearing. It has a tad burn to it initially but this quickly fades. Excellent rum for sipping or even better with a cigar to balance the sweetness.
Très bon rhum vieux, rond en bouche avec des notes épicée, de caramel et chocolat.
...I am mildly in love.
Great sipping rum.
I first tried the 20 year which dazzled me, even after a couple of bottles over the years.
Bought the 25 at least a year ago, but did not find the right time to open it...unfortunately. now, tgati tried it, it is a notch better and very smooth in comparison with the 20 year. Don't misunderstand, they are both great, yet if I must pick, I'll take the 25 year. Even though the 20 year is the better price-to-value bottle.
Solid 9.0 *thumbs up*
Very sweet and alcohol taste, goes very well with Therapy? 's Troublegum
Quel beau rhum! Trouvé en Ontario seulement et dégusté en fin de semaine avec des amis amateur de rhum de dégustation. En touchant mes lèvres, on peux déjà sentir le sucre et quel goût exceptionnel.
By thunder this be a fine rum! She has a sweet smell about her with spices, fruits, and bit of oak. Those flavors carry over to the taste, and then some! For as sweet as she smells, she be the perfect balance of dry and sweet. Nothin' too sweet here, and at 80 proof, nothin' for the rum snobs to whine about! There be nothin' here but sweet, smooth, beautiful rum. There be no burn goin' down the hatch either! Aye, she goes down a little too easy, but she gets better every time she does! You captains will want to keep this under lock and key... and don't hesitate to keel-haul any of them swabs who try to pinch this. Arrrgh!!!
When I first tried this I was staying at a resort in the los Angela’s region of Costa Rica... best served at room temperature with an orange peel... it was so good.. I had to buy a bottle the next day... never disappoints...
We did a blinded taste test with the 25 year and 30 year Centenario. The 25 year was very close with a similar profile. One of us slightly preferred the 25 and one of us slightly preferred the 30. Both excellent.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Premium rum from Costa Rica. It is a solera from molasses, where the oldest part is 25 years old. Ageing takes place in oak barrels after bourbon.
Narrow bottle similar to wine one. I like it. Versions 18 and 20 have the same bottle. The cap is wooden with a real cork.
Color: Dark amber, almost mahogany
Aroma: Simply beautiful and sweet. The aroma is first smelling of sweet tropical fruits, then oranges, vanilla and spices (cloves and cinnamon).
Taste: Pleasantly sweet and delicate. The taste is first dominated by vanilla, sweet tropical fruits, cherries, oranges. Later, oak wood can also be smelled, but it does not spoil the overall smoothness, rather it supports it.
Aftertaste: Medium long. Even if the rum feels woody, it will subside over time and only a pleasant smoothness remains.
I highly recommend it for lovers of pleasantly sweet (not oversweetened) and fine rums. Imagine a taste that is something between A.H. Riise and Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva.
